Alex's Story

Alex was born in Toronto to mother Amara Caillou Taylor, an upper-class French-Canadian, & father Keith Taylor, a working-class English-Canadian.Amara tragically died from kidney failure when Alex was 5 years old. Since Keith couldn’t afford to keep their house on his own, Amara’s brother, successful businessman Christophe Caillou, offered Keith and Alex to stay with his family in Montreal: wife Gabrielle, 8-yearl old son Sebastian & 5-year-old daughter Michelle.Alex has always been a real tomboy, who inherited her father’s love of cars. She spent a lot of her childhood in Keith’s garage, watching him tending to his beloved old classic Ferrari, & accompanying him to the Canada Grand Prix F1 races in Montreal every year. The Canada Grand Prix made a big impression on Alex & made her take up go-cart racing at the age of 7. Keith was naturally very supportive of his daughter’s newfound hobby, & proudly watched her ace the go cart tracks. She eventually advanced to Formula 1 at age 12, & soon grew to be one of Canada's best junior race-car drivers.Alex & her cousin Michelle grew up as sisters, though Michelle was a bit disappointed in Alex’s complete disinterest in all things feminine at first. Michelle tried to ignite some interest in girly things in her cousin, but completely gave up when Alex cut off her shoulder-length hair with a pair of kitchen scissors in 1st grade.However, Michelle quickly made peace with the fact that Alex was very different from her, & was very supportive of her cousin and her interest in racing & sports. Despite their differences, they did share a love for music. The Caillou spouses loved classical music & made sure the children learned an instrument each: violin for Michelle, piano for Alex, & cello for Sebastian. Michelle had a particular talent & soon became famous as a violin prodigy, with Alex supporting her just as much as she supported Alex's racing.One night, both Alex & Michelle had a dream where a young girl told them they were legendary sailor scouts & needed to find the three talismans. To do so, they had to go to Japan. When they woke up, they found their transformation wands on their beds. As by destiny, their parents had already enrolled them at the new, prestigious private Infinity Academy in Tokyo...
